How We Work

You don’t hire Legend to drag-and-drop something beige. You hire us to build a site that’s fast, safe, scalable, and actually pleasant to live with.

Most WordPress sites are a patchwork quilt  stitched together with page builders, dodgy plugins, and duct tape. They look okay on the outside, but under the hood? Chaos. We don’t do chaos. We build like developers, not dabblers

The Legend Way

When you come to us, you’re not buying “just a website.” You’re buying into a way of building that’s been sharpened over years of trial, error, and obsessive tweaking. We’ve tested every plugin, framework, and workflow under the sun. The result? A stack that’s fast, secure, and built to scale.
It means fewer plugins and fewer moving parts. It means your site won’t buckle when your campaign goes viral. It means you’re not calling us in a panic because someone edited a file over FTP and broke everything (because, spoiler: FTP isn’t even on the table).
We work like real developers GitHub for version control, automated deployments, proper testing, and error tracking that actually tells us when something’s up before it snowballs. It’s the kind of setup that usually lives in big tech teams. We’ve made it the baseline here.

The Tools We Trust

We’re picky. If a tool slows us down, bloats your site, or makes life harder for you, it doesn’t make the cut.

Here’s our current toolkit:

  • Roots / Bedrock / Sage — the backbone of our workflow, turning WordPress into something far more serious.
  • Our custom block-based theme — the boilerplate we’ve sweated over so your site loads lightning-fast and doesn’t creak under pressure.
  • Advanced Custom Fields Pro (registered in code) — so everything is tidy, structured, and easy to extend.
  • Cloudflare — speed, protection, and stability rolled into one.
  • Mandrill API — so emails land where they should.
  • WPMU DEV tools (Hub, Forminator, Defender Pro) — site management, forms, and security that actually pull their weight.
  • Flare, GitHub, VS Code, automated linting — the nerdy under-the-hood gear that keeps things clean and predictable.

When you host with us, all the licences are taken care of. If you ever move on, you’ll just need to grab your own — no hidden snags, no funny business.

What This Means For You

Here’s the simple version:

  • Your site is fast. Like, blink-and-it’s-loaded fast.
  • Your site is secure. Hackers and spambots have a much harder time.
  • Your site scales. A big traffic spike won’t bring it to its knees.
  • Your site lasts. It’s built on a workflow that avoids cowboy edits and plugin soup.

And you don’t have to understand how any of that works. You just get the benefits.

Working Together

When you partner with us, you’re not just buying a website  you’re buying peace of mind. We look after the moving parts so you can focus on running your business.
If you bring in other partners (say, an SEO agency or an ad team), we love working alongside them. But when it comes to the code, that’s our lane. It keeps things secure, consistent, and predictable  the way it should be.

And If You Ever Leave

We’re not in the business of locking people in. If you move on, we’ll hand you a neat zip file with your site and database, ready to run on standard WordPress hosting.
Now, fair warning: not every developer will know their way around our setup. That’s because we build with a modern workflow, not a page-builder kit. But that’s the reason your site performs the way it does.
Think of it like trading in a sports car: any mechanic can drive it, but only the right mechanic should service it.

Why It Matters

Choosing Legend isn’t about choosing a vendor. It’s about choosing a way of working one that’s been tested, refined, and battle-hardened to deliver the kind of websites you don’t get from drag-and-drop land.
We don’t cut corners. We don’t bloat your site with nonsense. We do things properly so you can move faster, sleep easier, and look sharper online.

That’s the Legend way.
