Town Centre Taupō Campaign: What’s In The Box? A Shop Local Campaign With Mystery

A playful retail campaign designed to drive foot traffic, spending, and local curiosity.

Town Centre Taupō supports the businesses that keep the heart of town moving, from retailers and eateries to the local spots that make Taupō worth exploring.

Legend created the visual campaign for their Mystery Box promotion, designed to encourage locals and visitors to shop in town and enter to win prizes from participating businesses. The campaign needed to feel playful, flexible, and easy for stores to run without taking over already-busy counter space.

The smartest part was making the campaign repeat-ready. We designed upright mystery boxes, undated entry cards, posters, social assets, and a Canva template so Town Centre Taupō could roll everything out clearly and use the campaign again in future.

With 36 participating businesses, the campaign brought colour, curiosity, and a little “what’s in the box?” energy back into town.
