Gathering Events is a new company created by the incredible Jules Harvey – a successful event organiser with years of experience in the industry (and the enviable ability to whip up amazing cocktails from nothing).
The vision for Gathering Events is ‘Bringing people together to create lasting memories through purposefully designed, sensory event experiences’.
An annual event called ‘The Gathering’ is to be the hero event under the Gathering Events brand.
A brand identity was needed that was multipurpose and could work for both parent and sub-brands.
We wanted the brand identity to have a feeling of warmth and a little whimsy, be bespoke, but not hoity-toity.
We started by sketching a family of icons representing the different culinary and sensory elements of the events, then gathered them together to form a ‘G’.
We lovingly handcrafted each icon in a simplified folk-art style so the logomark feels inviting and visually surprising.
Jules’ love of natural earthy colours was brought in with a deep teal and a bright, contrasting gold.
The launch of the brand gave us an opportunity to bring the design to life through AR and create that ta-da moment. A simple card with just the logo on it was sent out as an invitation – the mystery was revealed when invitees scanned the logo and the event details appeared in thin air.
